Committed to Our CommunitiesVermont is unique in a great many ways. Our state is small and we operate under a system of government that allows us to effectively connect with our policy makers over complex issues, both locally and statewide. No matter our political beliefs, we are universally committed to the Vermont culture and we inherently know we must collaborate and compromise in order to thrive. Quality of life is fundamental to our well-being. We are self-sufficient and fiercely independent; we are community-oriented and committed to preserving our environment. We care about the food we eat and the air we breathe. We deeply value our freedom to make decisions for ourselves. In fact, I believe it is that freedom itself that creates the sense of responsibility we have for each other’s well-being – our sense of community.
I have deep roots in Vermont, and as I have done in my last 20 years of public service, I will continue to work hard for our communities, searching for ways to improve our quality of life and our economy. Being elected state representative has created a new opportunity for me to give something back, both to my local communities and to a state that has given so much to me and my family. |
